Having Performance Issues?

Nobody Likes a Slow Website

Although we built our tool on a robust and scalable infrastructure, there may come times that something is hindering the performance. If you encounter any issues, please let us know in the chat and we can investigate.

Tip: starting with our status page might help to identify possible platform related issues

1. Browser Related Issues

Browser plugins and updates can cause some troubles

  • Ad-blocker plugins might not ‘play nice’ with the tool
  • Chrome's latest updates have been creating performance issues as they are optimizing their heavy ad engines
  • Some other application like Zoom.is slowing the overall performance

Tip: Check your latest browser update and try turning off browser plugins

2. Content Related Issues

Our reports are open for you to embed pictures, third-party apps or other iframes

  • reports may be trying to upload images too large for the tool
  • reports can have iframes with hanging applications
  • reports can have embedded applications slow things down because of authentication etc.

Tip: Check which part of the report is slow by hiding/unhiding widgets. Many times it’s only the loading of those reports that takes too much time.

3. Bandwidth Related Issues

The reporting module was designed to drive high-quality meetings with many online visuals. With lower bandwidth there are a couple things to consider

  • By clicking Future States / Current States you effect many processes changing the project roadmaps, score visuals and so on. You may want to click a bit more slowly to let the system do all the changes on your report.
  • Opening/Closing widgets might take longer as reading content might take more time.

Tip: Use Chrome's Development tool to throttle down the tool when you open reports to see how slow computer/slow internet connection affects the usability of the report:

4. Third-Party Related Issues

  • Our software is built on top of many components.

    • If you feel something is wrong, you can quickly detect the potential issues with your development console in Chrome
    • If you are not that tech-savvy just look for your browser's toolbar for a potential "waiting for…”

Tip: Look for signs on your browser's toolbar:

5. We screwed up:

Of course, we are not denying that our code can go south either.

  • If you’ve been with us a while, we have made many data migrations along the years that might cause issues.
  • Some solution sets have overlapping assets like services and report templates that might interfere with each other
  • Sometimes screens not specifically created for a particular case you’re using the tool on can hang from too much data visualization etc.

Tip: send us the screen hangs and we’ll try to detect if it is a rogue solution set or template

Thanks for your support! The more we know the better we can help!
